Before and After Mikuni Carbs

This is a set of Mikuni Carbs from a snowmobile that had been replaced and sat in a box for several years. The Vapour Hone restores the look of the original factory finish without altering any of the edges, markings or stampings.

Here's the result of neglect, this is a mikuni VM or round slide carb, pretty common but usefull for demonstration. Had this been an unobtanium vintage carb, Vapour Honing restores it to useable condition. Left unchecked the corrosion would eat through the bowl in time. we've magnified the pitting to allow better viewing on the web but in the extreme, we could line the bowl to return it to perfectly useable condition. Before and After Bronze Fire Nozzel

Here's a vintage Bronze fire Nozzel that a friend had laying in a box of scrap for 30 years. It cleaned up nicely! Click on the images to enlarge

Before and After Kawasaki H1R Cylinder

Here's a cylinder and head from a Kawasaki H1R, thats the race version of the H1 hence the 4 stud exhaust flange where the street bike had a 2 stud flange. I was curious to see how well the hone would remove the years of corrosion, as you can see it does a wonderful job of restoring the original surfaces both aluminium and the cast steel flange. Exhaust Thread Repair

We Offer both internal and external exhaust thread repair, pictured here is the BMW external thread repair Picture 1 is the ruined thread set up in the mill, picture 2 is the same head with the spigot machined to receive the threaded sleeve and chamfered for welding. 3 is the sleeve installed and ready for welding, after being tig welded the head is returned to the mill to be machined perfectly flat to allow the exhaust collett to apply pressure to both the threaded sleeve and the parent material as it did originally. BMW Airhead Final Drive Spline Replacement

We have recently completed the tooling and process to replacing your worn Airhead final drive spline. The old stub is separated from your crown gear and replaced with a new stub like the one pictured above. You have the option of sending your crown gear only or the complete final drive. We will reseal, vapour Hone, replace the spline and make the necessary shimming adjustments to accomodate the new stub and return your unit looking and working like new.
